The name

Inspired by its location, on the rock hanging above the village, and using the local word “apsila” for saying “high up there” we came up with the name Apsila Pool Suites in Sifnos.

The family

Fulfilling their dreams, a family coming from Sifnos island, created these suites to share their insights and personal experiences and introduce Sifnos they know and love to all travelers. Mary and Yiannis, the “heart” and “soul” of the houses, along with the younger members of their family will take care of every single detail, making arrangements for your comfort stay. They will help you experience an authentic “welcome home” feeling, the true essence of Greek hospitality and assist you with anything you may possibly need.

The materials

Surrounded by stone and earth, Apsila Pool Suites in Sifnos were designed to create a harmonious symbiosis between the inside and the outside. The natural environment constituted our inspiration in order to use raw materials for the structural and decorative elements. With a lot of passion, patience and attention to detail, while having in mind a sustainable philosophy of materials reuse, stones were chosen from the construction site and from local dams. They went through a special process in order to get their final shape as stone sinks, about 300 kilos each, and were placed in all property’s bathrooms. They have now taken their emblematic position, enhancing the absolute harmony of the interior with the external environment. The presence of the natural environment was enhanced by using small stones as lighting and decorative elements.
